Does Medicaid pay for home care in Texas?

Yes. Texas Medicaid covers personal care and attendant services for eligible members, most commonly through STAR+PLUS managed care plans and HHSC waiver programs. If you are enrolled in Molina Healthcare, Community Health Choice, or a DADS/HHSC program, your in-home care services with Aeon are likely covered with no out-of-pocket cost.

Which Medicaid plans does Aeon accept?

We are contracted with three Texas Medicaid programs: Molina Healthcare (STAR+PLUS), Community Health Choice, and DADS programs now administered through HHSC. We are a Medicaid-only agency, so we do not bill Medicare, private insurance, or accept private pay.

How do I find out if my parent qualifies?

Bring their Medicaid card to a free consultation, or read us the plan name over the phone, and we will verify eligibility on the spot. If they are not yet enrolled in a plan we accept, we will point you to the right next step with HHSC or the plan itself.

What services are covered?

Covered services typically include personal care assistance (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, meal preparation, medication reminders), companion and homemaker support (light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping), and respite coverage for family caregivers. Your plan's service coordinator authorizes hours based on assessed need.

Will we pay anything out of pocket?

Most of our clients pay nothing. When services are authorized through your Medicaid plan, the plan pays us directly. We will tell you clearly before care begins if any situation would involve a cost to you.

How fast can care start?

Once your plan authorizes hours, we can usually match a caregiver and begin within days. The consultation and eligibility check take about twenty minutes, and we handle the paperwork with your plan's service coordinator.

Can we get a caregiver who speaks Vietnamese, Spanish, or Chinese?

Often, yes. Our team includes caregivers who speak Vietnamese, Spanish, and Chinese, and language is one of the things we consider when matching a caregiver to a client. Tell us your preference during the consultation.

Do you send the same caregiver every time?

Whenever we can. Consistency is one of our founding principles, and it matters most for clients with memory or cognitive changes. We assign a primary caregiver and keep that match stable, with a familiar backup for time off.

Is Aeon licensed?

Yes. Aeon Home Health Care LLC is registered with Texas Health and Human Services and holds active NPI 1871030734, on file since 2017. Every caregiver passes a background check and completes orientation before working with a client.

What areas do you serve?

Our office is in southwest Houston on South Kirkwood Road. We serve Houston, Sugar Land, Katy, Bellaire, Pearland, Stafford, Missouri City, The Woodlands, Richmond, Rosenberg, Fulshear, and Spring, and we frequently take clients outside these areas when scheduling allows.
